Who We Are… Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale‑up business with a start‑up mentality and the backing of a well‑established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
The team you’ll join… The Global Manufacturing Engineer (GME) team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help in building large-scale logistics facilities from the ground up.
What You'll Bring...
- Proven experience in laser welding processes (e.g. CW lasers, scanner-based systems, seam quality control, parameter optimization).
- Strong background in automated mechanical assembly systems, including high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience in process development validation and industrialisation of welding and assembly technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with equipment suppliers and system integrators, including specification, design reviews and acceptance.
- Ability to define and manage process KPIs (OEE, yield, cycle time, scrap) and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex workstreams in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits and ergonomics including risk assessments.
