What You’ll Do
An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Principal Launch Engineer (Electrode) within our Launch and Integration team.
Report to the Head of Launch & Integration – E zone, the Principal Launch Engineer is responsible for leading the successful industrialisation and launch of new manufacturing lines, equipment and production processes from concept through to production.
- Solution Architecture: support the design of scalable, reliable equipment architectures for multi-site deployments (e.g., factories, warehouses).
- System Integration & Optimization: drive end-to-end integration across coating, web handling to ensure superior product performance, and provide strategic direction during FAT, OQ, SOP, and ramp phases.
- Troubleshooting: troubleshoot and resolve launch and ramp challenges such as complex, non-standard issues including cracking, delamination, and density variability.
- Leadership – lead a cross-functioning team, coordinating GME, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, and Program Management teams to ensure launch readiness, achievement of production targets, and delivery of customer requirements.
This is a hybrid role with contractual location in Bridgwater, Somerset and domestic/international travel to other Agratas and supplier sites is required.

The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep knowledge of electrode manufacturing processes (e.g. mixing, coating, calendaring, notching and slitting).
- Exposure to greenfield or scale-up industrial deployments.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, supporting capability development, consistency of technical judgement, and effective application of best practices across launch programs.
- Act as a go-to escalation point for complex or ambiguous technical issues within the area of expertise.
- Partner with other stakeholders within Engineering, Operations and Launch to ensure technical risks are surfaced early and mitigations are aligned to launch priorities.
