About the role
We are on the look out for a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our Quality team here at Tesco within Beef and Data. The person will support delivery of Beef sourcing and sustainability strategy. They will also be owning and project managing data collection and reporting across a number of initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the delivery of the long term strategy for Tesco agriculture supply chains, with a specific focus on beef, ensuring Tesco beef supply chains are sustainable and resilient.
- Working with colleagues, suppliers and producers to help them better understand and meet customer expectations on environmental, animal health & welfare and farming best practice.
- Working as part of the Sustainable Agriculture team and broader Sustainability Team, sharing findings across our function and taking ownership of cross-cutting elements and projects within our strategy.
- Owning and project managing data collection and reporting across a number of initiatives including (but not limited to) reporting against our Sustainable Agriculture commitments linked to Tesco's Planet Plan and our ESG targets, Tesco Welfare Approved (TWA) reporting and our broader animal health and welfare reporting.
- Building strong internal relationships with our commercial, technical and standards and audit team as well as key external relationships including our external data service providers, suppliers and Tesco Sustainable Beef Group farmers.
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration across our beef supply chain that supports delivery of our sustainable agriculture targets and commitments.
You will need:
- Degree in Agriculture, sustainability or a related subject.
- Understanding of animal health and welfare and sustainability issues facing beef sector and the solutions to address these.
- Experience of delivering and sustaining change - Build strong relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to work on cross functional projects that are relevant to the broader Sustainable Agriculture team.
