Supply Chain analysts inspire and deliver transformational changes to our business - whether collaborating with suppliers and across Tesco, optimising the flow of stock through our network, or using emerging technologies to unlock new opportunities, you will be a key part of a team that delivers big benefits for our customers, colleagues, communities and planet! This vacancy is used to recruit for analytical roles across Supply Chain, all of which rely on data-driven decision making, clear communication, a strong understanding of business priorities, and a collaborative approach. However each area of work requires a different mix of skills, giving a diverse range of opportunities for developing your career at Tesco – examples of our analyst roles are outlined below: Business Analytics Combining business understanding and analytics to optimise our systems and processes. Example projects: designing and developing new ordering algorithms to balance customer availability with food waste and other costs, modelling our supply chain to better understand the impact of different actions; optimising how our stores are laid out and merchandised to deliver the best shopping trip for our customers Data Science Using the latest machine learning and data science techniques to understand and model customer behaviour. Example projects: predicting customer demand, including the response to promotions, events, and weather; optimisation of our price reductions on expiring food to minimise waste Leading Change Building engagement for our work in the wider business, influencing partners across different functions to deliver real change. Example projects: launching supplier collaboration tools that unlock end-to-end savings; leveraging new barcode technology to better track products through our network; informing new product development and ranging decisions through customer and market analysis Reporting and Insight Understanding supply chain performance and turning it into useful insight to keep the business running on a daily basis. Example projects: producing daily reporting of performance metrics to shape operational decisions; root causing issues and opportunities to support future change projects

You will be responsible for

• Developing a deep understanding of how the retail industry and our end-to-end supply chain work
• Using a combination of technical skills and business understanding to root cause issues, define problems, and implement creative solutions in the business.
• Leading your own projects, building engagement and influencing relevant partners to deliver real change
• Articulating the opportunity, insight, or project clearly, flexing your style to engage with conviction
• Measuring the benefits and costs associated with your work and demonstrating resilience and a dedication to innovation
• Accurately analysing data to report on performance and root causing issues

You will need

• A good eye for business and the drive to make changes to the way the company operates
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, combined with the ability to simplify problems and implement practical solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and collaborate with other teams to deliver to objectives
• Capability to innovate new and pragmatic solutions using your own ideas
