The Resource, Planning and Capability Manager operates in a dynamic distribution environment, serving as the key liaison between central operations and the Head of Distribution. The role focuses on driving performance through effective resource planning, budget management, and continuous improvement of KPIs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspiring and coaching teams to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Identifying and developing talent, and ensuring training needs are met.
  • Collaborating with team and shift managers to maintain best-in-class operating procedures.
  • Supporting site needs and fostering a culture of helpful and friendly service behaviours.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working in a fast-paced distribution environment where no day is the same.
  • Being the point of contact for the central operations reporting into the Head of Distribution.
  • Inspiring your team to be customer focused to meet performance metrics and deliver excellent service.
  • Managing a specified budget whilst striving to be results driven through continuous improvement of KPIs.
  • Listening to understand site needs and ensuring we are delivering for the business.
  • Coaching and supporting Managers to deliver practical actions for improvements.
  • Spotting talent and providing coaching when needed.
  • Planning team training needs and developing those who want to progress within One Stop.
  • Working in collaboration with Team & Shift managers to ensure our operating procedures are best in class.

What the role involves:

  • Leading & delivering in the Distribution Centre across all shifts.
  • Ensuring effective planning and organisation of our colleagues by working with operational management teams and 3rd party partners.
  • Delivering and continually evaluating high quality ROTA, holiday and skills planning tools.
  • Proactively balancing warehouse cost drivers to achieve optimal results.
  • Monitoring daily variances to ensure accurate resource requirements are formed.
  • Managing the Resource, Planning and Capability associates to ensure focus on service delivery, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Leading warehouse planning cross-functional projects as required.
  • Ensuring robust management of the Distribution centres holiday management process.
  • Completing root cause analysis where plans have not delivered required results.
  • Focusing on root cause analysis for plans not delivering as expected and making recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Pro-actively planning skills requirements to drive optimal performance.
