Compensation
Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Hours and flexibility
It is Tesco policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would prefer to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), there are opportunities available and we would still love to hear from you.
We schedule contracted hours within the advertised availability windows and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We are flexible with timing and welcome applications even if your availability does not match exactly.

Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
- Assist customers and ensure they leave with what they came for
- Coach colleagues and provide feedback to improve service
- Guide and support colleagues to maintain a safe workplace
- Understand store performance and assist managers in driving improvements
- Lead from the front and set a positive example
