Availability

Availability window: Days and times vary. Typical pattern includes evenings and early mornings. Example: Sun 22:00–07:00; Thu 22:00–07:00; Fri 22:00–07:00. The weekly schedule is set with 3 weeks’ notice of shifts.

We support flexibility where possible; if your available times closely match but do not exactly align with advertised times, we would still love to hear from you.

Compensation

Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 per hour, rising to £13.66 for stores inside the M25. For hours worked between midnight and 06:00 you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

Hours and Guarantee

Policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. Fewer hours (minimum 12) may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, providing great natural service.
  • Be knowledgeable about products and services within the store.
  • Work across service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
  • Apply training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers and deliver routines in-store that meet customer needs.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Understand store performance and your role in driving service, sales, waste reduction and profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in good condition.
  • Represent Tesco values, be inclusive, and follow policies.
  • May be required to accept deliveries into the store.
