Join our dynamic Property Maintenance team as a Property Support Engineer, where you'll play a key role in keeping our stores and offices fire systems running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on solving problems, collaborating across teams, and making a real impact every day. You'll provide remote technical support to quickly diagnose and resolve fire-related maintenance issues, acting as the first line of support for the Fire Technical Manager and field teams. Throughout your work, you'll prioritise safety, efficiency, cost-conscious decision-making, and the wellbeing of colleagues, customers, and communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to proactively diagnose and resolve fire-related maintenance issues, ensuring timely and permanent solutions.
- Act as first-line support for the Fire Technical Manager and field teams.
- Play an active role in the national fire risk assessment project, driving compliance and safety.
- Use available systems to identify trends and opportunities that improve maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions to optimize resource allocation and dispatch programs, building strong relationships and managing expectations effectively.
- Develop and implement formal incident and investigation methodologies to strengthen our ways of working.
- Conduct site visits as required to support technical needs and ensure standards are met.
- Maintain a safe environment for colleagues and customers in all stores and offices.
- Ensure all assets are repaired within agreed timeframes to minimize disruption.
- Put community, customer, and colleague welfare at the heart of every decision.
- Meet all statutory and compliance requirements consistently.
- Manage workload efficiently to maximize productivity and deliver results.
- Be cost-conscious in all actions while treating others with respect and fairness.
What you will need
- Maintenance and/or engineering experience.
- Customer service in a relevant fast moving 24/7 business.
- 5 years' experience within a relevant industry provider in a related engineering role.
- Fire background of installing / maintaining fire equipment and alarm systems.
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining fire detection and suppression systems.
- Knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations (BS 5839, BS 5306, BS EN 54, BS 9997).
- FIA (Fire Industry Association) training or equivalent.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving license.
