Overview
Booker is seeking a part time Supply Planner to join the product supply team, based at our Hemel Hempstead site. You will be responsible for achieving and maximising product availability targets through careful planning and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The working hours are 15 per week, across three mornings including Friday. Details of the working pattern can be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities
- Optimise service levels to customers within the business unit and across the supply chain.
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers and small product categories.
- Achieve stockholding and wastage budgets and take appropriate actions without impacting supply.
- Daily review of stock shortages, support inbound operations and contact suppliers.
- Communicate key issues to internal stakeholders and support with resolution.
- Forecasting, tracking promotions and product allocations.
- Support seasonal events and activities.
- Work with internal stakeholder teams to ensure trading activities align with supply chain goals.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and consolidators/hauliers to optimise inbound supply service levels and supplier constraints.
Requirements
Key attributes include excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels, strong organisation and time management, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, customer service orientation, analytical skills, and proficient Excel (intermediate/advanced). You should be self-motivated with a proactive approach and problem-solving mindset.
Desirable qualifications include some procurement or supply chain/retail experience and some knowledge of supply chain ordering systems and sales forecasting; full training will be provided. GCSE or equivalent Maths and English at grade C or above.
Desirable: Suitable supply chain professional qualification or interest in studying for one, or educated to degree level.
