About the role
We are looking for an experienced and data-driven Product Manager to lead the development of our
Search and Browse capabilities within the Discovery team.
This is a fantastic role that is critical to how customers find, explore, and engage with products across all Tesco markets and propositions. You will
play a role in shaping the product vision, strategy, and execution of scalable, API-based services and
intuitive customer experiences that impact key business and customer metrics.
You’ll be part of a supportive and high-trust product team that includes engineers, technical program managers, and designers. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues from Tesco Labs, our international markets, and our data and analytics teams .
You will be responsible for
• Dive deep into complex data sets to uncover actionable insights and emerging trends. Use these
findings to drive data-informed decisions that maximize product value and support long-term
strategic goals.• Design and scale intelligent, low-latency product discovery services. Continuously tune
algorithmic parameters to optimize relevance, performance, and personalization at scale.• Lead the evolution of domain-specific APIs, while thoughtfully deprecating legacy interfaces.
Ensure seamless transitions with minimal disruption to consumers and clearly quantify the value of
API modernization initiatives.• Identify and champion new opportunities to apply advanced search and browse capabilities across
diverse markets, platforms, and digital channels. Enhancing the reach and versatility of discovery
experiences.• Translate business goals, user needs, and market dynamics into a forward-looking product
roadmap. Prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable value, enhance agility, and position the
organization for future growth.• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and
Data Scientists—to execute the roadmap using agile practices. Facilitate prioritisation, resolve
blockers, and ensure customer-centricity is woven into every feature, sprint, and release.
You will need
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories/ acceptance criterions• Understanding of User Research/ Design Thinking concepts• Understanding of APIs and the art of the possible• Experience with agile development teams and workflows within JIRA, Confluence or similar
systems
