About the role

We are looking for a confident and articulate Procurement professional to join our team at Tesco! The ability to work with various partners and negotiate with suppliers are key experiences required for this role. Experience in logistics procurement and leading sophisticated multi-million pound tenders is also crucial. Specialising in Distribution, Fleet and Logistics procurement, this Procurement Manager will be responsible for delivering strategic development, planning and sourcing initiatives, which drives value for money and efficiencies throughout the procurement lifecycle!

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco.
  • Developing strong working relationships with customers to support, endorse and deliver sub category plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realise business savings and support innovation.
  • Building and delivering sub category plans aligned to Category Plans by being innovative and collaborative with various cross functional partners.
  • Consistently supervising and reporting on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
  • Using good judgement to build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and build greater value across the organisation.
  • Supporting the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical and safety procurement policies with integrity and good judgment.

You will need:

  • Experience of running Distribution, Fleet and logistics categories within a large scale organisation.
  • Procurement management and negotiation skills, experience of leading extensive multi-million pound sourcing events.
  • Capability to lead sophisticated projects, driving innovation and standard methodology through others.
  • Cross functional working and partner engagement.
  • Supplier relationship and performance leadership skills.
  • Category Planning skills, capability to build and implement strategies.
  • High level of Commercial competence and contract leadership skills.
