Tesco is hiring a Pharmacy Dispenser. The rate of pay starts from £12.87 per hour and increases to £14.08 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work a minimum of 12 hours if desired. Availability windows are provided to outline preferred work times. Hours will be scheduled within these times, with 3 weeks’ notice for shifts. We support flexibility where available times closely match the advertised times.

About the role
Working alongside experienced Pharmacists and managers, you will receive local management and leadership support in whatever store you are based. We are looking for talented Pharmacy professionals who can deliver high-quality healthcare service, with a supportive team, detailed training, and a varied working environment where no two days are the same.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the operation of one of our modern Pharmacies
- Applying technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication
- Dispensing prescription medicines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Providing confident, friendly service and helping customers with new medicines
- Giving information on common ailments, symptoms and products
- Understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate products
- Advising on the range of Pharmacy services available
- Supporting and delivering Pharmacy services and dispensing processes per SOPs
- Assessing legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions
- Responding to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within area of competence
- Handling customer queries about prescription medicines and informing the Pharmacist of complaints
- Ensuring dispensary routines and SOPs are followed
- Maintaining clean and tidy dispensary and consulting rooms
- Ensuring all prescription administration is accurate and on time
- Carrying out promotional activities and company initiatives within the team
- Carrying out procedures to protect profit and ensure safe and legal trading
- Completing corporate and departmental training
- Keeping up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy
You will need
- Qualifications gained from working in a Pharmacy environment
- A desire to train and develop into the Pharmacy field
