You will be responsible for

  • Supporting the Maintenance Operations Manager (MOM) in managing relationships with outsourced maintenance suppliers across our retail stores, SSC, and Distribution Centres.
  • Assisting in implementing Safety Improvement plans for Tesco Maintenance, ensuring all safety risks are managed.
  • Collaborating with the wider business to support safety improvement plans across Retail, Distribution, and Property.
  • Building effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Supporting policy and procedure development within Maintenance.
  • Participating in monthly governance meetings on maintenance budgets, trends, and insights, and facilitating these meetings when needed.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Managing cleaning, refuse, and hygiene contracts, including setting SLAs and controlling costs.
  • Championing Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring safe work activities for colleagues and customers.
  • Line management of the Facilities Team (canteen, reception, cleaning, post room) and developing their capabilities.
  • Owning and implementing the SSC H&S risk register and improvement plan.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, H&S, and COSHH regulations, maintaining accurate records.
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, and invoicing for facilities and canteen services.
  • Maintaining up-to-date H&S documentation.
  • Leading SSC H&S colleague meetings, scheduling, documenting minutes, and managing follow-up actions.
  • Addressing maintenance issues in the SSC, working with Tesco Maintenance to ensure timely reporting and escalation.

  • NEBOSH qualification (preferable)
