Key responsibilities include:
- Be at the heart of a major data transformation, helping to redesign and redevelop how we shape, manage, and consume data across the business.
- Influence how we work and shape our future standards, processes, and ways of working as we modernise our data platform.
- Work within a cross-functional product team to deliver insight that supports real-time business decisions in a fast-paced insurance environment.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, influencing how data is used across the organisation and contributing to strategic initiatives.
- Innovate, rebuild, and rethink data processes rather than just maintaining existing ones.
- Access cross-functional project work and exposure to broader data transformation initiatives.
- Engage in continuous learning through experimentation, redevelopment, and adopting new technologies as our data strategy evolves.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MI and reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other modern data tools.
- Work closely with product teams to understand business needs and translate them into meaningful, actionable insights.
- Support the redevelopment of existing reporting and data processes as we transition to a new Microsoft Fabric environment.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting outputs.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to present insights, gather requirements, and influence decision making.
- Contribute to shaping new standards, processes, and ways of working within a growing and evolving data function.
We need you to have:
- Proven experience developing MI and reporting solutions, including data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, transform, and optimise data across large and complex datasets.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or modern cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, or similar).
And if you have any of these, even better:
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, or Notebook based development.
- Knowledge of Azure services including Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse, or Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data transformation or automation.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and best practice approaches to metadata and documentation.
What’s in it for you:
- Prepare for your retirement with our colleague pension scheme.
- Private Medical Insurance and virtual GP Service for you and your family 365 days a year.
- Critical Illness Insurance.
- Performance related annual bonus.
- Generous holiday allowance with a minimum of 7.2 weeks, with the opportunity to buy more.
- Colleague Clubcard benefits, including discounts.
- Family-oriented initiatives, including enhanced maternity leave pay and generous paternity leave.
- Ongoing learning opportunities and award-winning training.
- Participation in our Buy as you Earn and Save as you Earn share schemes.
We are committed to building a more inclusive workplace and celebrating everything that makes colleagues unique. We value the richness and diversity this brings to our business.
Interviews are expected to be held from 09/03/2026.
