Tesco: Store Manager

Contract: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Varies from day to day but are planned in advance

You will be responsible for

  • Recruiting and training the best people for your team, ensuring they can deliver above and beyond through development of operational and leadership skills.
  • Coaching your team to be passionate and knowledgeable about products, building the store’s brand and providing customers with the right range, quality and service.
  • Leading your team in driving trade activity to grow sales and maximise profit.
  • Leading and building managers’ knowledge to deliver and sustain Store Change Plan and resource-planned activities, ensuring hours benefit customers; identify and resolve root cause issues with sustainable solutions and continual reviews.
  • Ensuring the safety of colleagues and that the store trades legally by coaching the team to use available security tools.

You will need

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to share knowledge, experience and best practices while working collaboratively to deliver results.
  • A natural and welcoming approach with customers, listening and building strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Energy and resilience to maintain momentum in challenging environments; ability to own decision making for the store and act quickly in customers’ and colleagues’ interests.
  • Drive to deliver beyond expectations and consistently perform at your best, inspiring confidence in others.
  • Aware of competitors’ actions and continually seeking ways to improve the store for customers with new initiatives.
