Tesco Insurance is looking for a MI and Reporting Developer to join our Insurance Money and Services team. You’ll play a key role in redefining how we capture, interpret, and deliver data across the business, ensuring analytics are accurate, accessible, and aligned to our evolving strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to influence our future approach to reporting, analytics standards, and ways of working as we modernise our data platform. Embedded within a cross-functional product team, the insight you generate will support real-time operational and strategic decisions in a fast-paced insurance environment.
You’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, helping to strengthen data-driven decision making and shaping how analytics supports the wider organisation. Join a growing team at a pivotal moment. As our data landscape evolves, your skills and fresh thinking will directly influence our direction and maturity.
More than BAU - this is an opportunity to build. Instead of simply maintaining existing reports, you’ll help redesign, automate, and enhance our analytics estate, creating scalable and modern solutions. Your work will be recognised, valued, and directly linked to improvements in performance, decision making, and business outcomes.
Gain exposure to cross-functional projects. You’ll contribute to broader data transformation initiatives and work with Engineers, Product Managers, and SMEs to deliver meaningful change. A culture of continuous learning awaits you, with the chance to upskill in new tools, experiment with emerging analytical techniques, and be part of an environment that encourages curiosity and innovation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support and run regular MI processes. Ensure recurring reports, dashboards, and data checks are delivered accurately and on time.
- Provide day-to-day analytical support. Work closely with the Senior Analyst to investigate data issues, produce ad hoc insight, and contribute to continuous improvements across reporting.
- Help maintain and improve reporting outputs. Assist in updating and refining existing dashboards, visuals, and datasets using tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders. Act as a first point of contact for business queries, helping teams understand their data.
- Support data quality and consistency. Work with wider data colleagues to ensure reporting outputs are accurate and reliable.
- Assist with light coding and data manipulation. Use SQL, DAX, or Fabric pipelines to prepare datasets and troubleshoot issues.
We need you to have:
- Strong Excel capability with experience using formulas, lookups, pivots, and general data manipulation.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability, including spotting data issues and validating results.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A growth mindset with good organisational skills.
And if you have any of these, even better:
- Exposure to data visualisation tools like Power BI.
- Experience working with data in a business environment.
- Experience working with commercial or operational data.
- Exposure to automation tools or the Power Platform.
What’s in it for you:
- Prepare for your retirement with our colleague pension scheme.
- Private Medical Insurance and virtual GP Service.
- Performance related annual bonus.
- Generous holiday allowance with the opportunity to buy more.
- Colleague Clubcard with discounts.
- Family-oriented initiatives, including enhanced maternity leave pay.
- Ongoing learning opportunities and award-winning training.
- Participation in our Buy as you Earn and Save as you Earn share schemes.
We want all our colleagues to always feel welcome and be themselves. We’re committed to building a more inclusive workplace and celebrating everything that makes colleagues unique.
