Tesco Insurance is looking for an experienced Claims Team Leader to join our Third Party Settlement Team in Newcastle. You will lead and manage a team of Claims Handlers to ensure the proactive and cost-effective management and resolution of all claims and liabilities while delivering exceptional customer service.
The Role:
- Lead and manage the team to ensure all claims are managed correctly, in accordance with policy cover, legal liability, and departmental guidelines.
- Motivate your team to meet individual and business needs, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and handling grievances.
- Maintain technical knowledge to ensure excellent customer service and fair settlements.
- Provide job-related support to team members to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Conduct regular quality management audits and provide feedback.
- Manage escalated customer complaints proactively and identify resolutions.
- Produce accurate and timely reports as required.
- Identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Comply with PRA and Data Protection Act protocols.
We need you to have:
- Extensive knowledge of working in Claims, ideally with understanding of insurance principles.
- Knowledge of Credit Hire claims handling is desirable.
- Previous experience in a regulated environment and knowledge of governance and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in managing and motivating staff.
- Ability to coach and develop staff.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills.
- Results-focused with a track record of delivery.
- Ability to work in multiple systems and good skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
