About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Barista, who is enthusiastic about quality food and drink and great customer service to join one of our Tesco Café teams. You’ll ensure our customers enjoy delicious coffee, tea and seasonal drinks that make every day a little better.
You’ll bring your skill as a Barista (or as someone who’s worked in hospitality) to the team and share your knowledge and expertise with those around you. You’ll be familiar with all of our menu offerings and any new initiatives, regularly review stock levels, and serve our customers quickly and efficiently, taking into account any particular requirements.
At Tesco Café, we’re committed to providing opportunities for everyone to be at their best. With your experience, you’ll take ownership of team barista development and work closely with the Café Manager to support those looking to develop their skills. You’ll also use Click and Learn portal and other café resources to complete specific learning modules to enhance your own knowledge.

Responsibilities
- Work at speed to serve a range of drinks to customers quickly and efficiently.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure required standards are met.
- Regularly review stock levels and follow all policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Café Manager to identify and support team members looking to develop as Baristas.
- Keep up to date with all communications from Tesco, including new offers, initiatives and menu changes.
- Resolve customer complaints where possible.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Barista, or in a hospitality environment.
- A commitment to excellent customer service.
- Confidence to coach and train others in an inclusive manner.
Personal qualities
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Confidence using initiative to identify opportunities to improve working practices.
- Excellent communication skills to support colleagues and the Café Manager.
