We are currently recruiting for a Retail Development Manager to join our Booker and Makro Wholesale division. This is no ordinary Sales role; together with the General Manager, you will work alongside our Premier symbol operators and independent retailers to build relationships and trust, which in turn will grow and develop their businesses. This role requires you to work a 5-day week which may include occasional weekends and bank holidays.

You will be responsible for:
- New business growth in your region through the recruitment of competitor stores and identifying new store opportunities for existing retailers.
- Managing a defined territory with the responsibility for sales, debt, margin, cash profit and customer satisfaction, with a particular emphasis on sales growth.
You will need:
- To be someone who not only can work to a general daily routine but can be adaptive to the people and situations that are presented to them.
- A solution-focused sales approach with a natural desire to problem solve and resilience to have difficult conversations when things don’t go to plan.
- Familiarity with the local area and the social and economic factors affecting it is a must.
- Frequent travel will be required.
