We are on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our Prep and Bake (Non Food) team. You will be an autonomous buyer who will have already bought many ranges. You will be responsible for two big streams in the prep and bake area: 70% Range Planning and 30% Promotional Buying.

Responsibilities
- Help to build and source customer/market insight led ranges and product innovation; support manager to manage supplier performance.
- Lead product setup within Tesco proprietary systems ready for sale.
- Identify potential new suppliers and support to build long term supplier relationships.
- Provide support to ensure the category has a long term, customer led plan which drives loyalty.
- Conduct regular store/website visits and review customer insight and trends to shape future product and range requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers with support from the manager to improve the trading position in a sustainable way.
- Support delivery of the department\’s trade, promotions/marketing and events plan, striving to exceed KPI forecasts and drive footfall.
- Support Tesco Business Services and Supply Chain to get products in all channels on time.
- Work with suppliers and the category quality team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained.
- Load Commercial Income and ensure suppliers are invoiced correctly, manage over-charge, under-charges and aged debt on a weekly basis.
- Brief, develop and manage all artwork and POS.
- Adhere to Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and complete all training.
- Manage GHS setup.
