We are on the look out for a Head of Technical Produce and Horticulture to join our Quality team here at Tesco. You will lead the strategic delivery of safe, legal, responsibly sourced, quality products in the category, always focusing on delivering for our customers, and living our values and leading your team by example.
- Leading my team to risk assess products, processes and suppliers to be safe, legal, ethical and meet relevant Tesco policy and audit requirements and customer expectations.
- Developing the Technical and Quality strategy for my area to ensure delivery against our strategic drivers including health and responsible sourcing, whilst being guardian of brand integrity.
- Driving the supplier strategy in my category from a quality and technical point of view.
- Minimising risk and cost throughout the supply chain and product range, and overseeing sign off of products.
- Leading the review of quality feedback across my area, resolving risks to the brand and improving our customer offer.
- Driving innovation and improvements in quality by standing over the product development process where applicable.
- Managing incident and enforcement challenges in my area when escalated.
- Being the point of escalation for risks identified through our supply chains or processes.
- Contributing to and/or managing change programmes in my category.
- Ensuring that my team and I maintain great relationships with our suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.
- Developing, coaching and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
- Supplier and stakeholder management, with strong influencing, communication and presentation skills.
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in a related field.
- Product area knowledge and experience delivering safe, legal, quality and responsibly sourced products.
- People management and team leadership.
- Risk assessment, risk management and incident management.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical standards.
- Change, project and programme management.
- Data analysis and evidence-based decision making.
- Strong IT and systems skills.
- End-to-end supply chain understanding.
