Availability Window
Availability windows: Sun 05:00–17:00; Tue 12:00–18:00; Sat 12:00–20:00. The table has been removed; the times above show the periods we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility if your available times match closely but not exactly the advertised times.
Pay and hours
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from ÂŁ12.45 an hour; this increases to ÂŁ13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
Your role involves delivering your part of our customer shopping trip, including:
- Carrying out clean as you go routines using the clean as you go tools.
- Keeping aisles clear of congestion when replenishing or picking products.
- Working in a clean, tidy and organised manner; taking any equipment that needs cleaning out of use.
- Following the warehouse/storage plan and putting everything back in its place.
- Ensuring trays used for picking are clean and removing dirty trays for cleaning.
- Regularly replenishing products so customers can get what they want, prioritising items that matter most to customers if there are gaps.
- Knowing where products have moved to after merchandising activity and keeping stock visible by pulling forward stock and removing cardboard.
- Keeping the warehouse organised and completing stock routines accurately and on time.
- Picking online customers shopping accurately with quality and freshness, and completing substitutions as required.
- Ensuring items picked are of the highest standard of quality and have the best possible date for fresh products.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and help ensure the store is the best it can be for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say \”Thank you\”.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
- Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
