The Insight team’s mission is to act as the voice of the Customer and influence Tesco to make confident decisions that align with Customer expectations and needs. In this role you will play a key part in understanding our customers better than anywhere else in the business through our new customer segmentation. You will help identify opportunities to grow and help set the direction of the UK & Customer plans. By delivering clear insights and recommendations, you will help evolve and grow our customer facing propositions that help us achieve our targets.
Responsibilities
- Using data & insight to tell compelling stories, sharing this across the business to deliver practical recommendations.
- Managing both research and analytics requests, providing clear and focused briefs.
- Connecting multiple data sets of varying types (research, behavioural, panel, economic, market context) to support the creation of insight about our customers, competitors & markets that we can act on.
- Supporting senior colleagues to develop and evolve compelling propositions, from insight led proposition development through to evaluation.
- Ensuring projects deliver against requirements, on time and on budget, and are presented in a simple way, to land the key messages with impact.
- A passion for understanding customers and an inquisitive mind!
- A keen curiosity about the retail industry with a customer focus and the ability to think commercially.
- Ability to consolidate multiple sources of data and insight to create clear and succinct presentations using data visualisation and storytelling.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data from different sources.
- A number of years experience in an insight function or as a recipient of Insight content e.g.: Planner, Strategist, Brand Manager (Agency or client-side).
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once involving multiple stages.
- Good understanding of different insight approaches and tools, alongside good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
