The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 ÂŁ per hour.
The role requires availability during the advertised days and times, from 04:00 to 00:00 across all days of the week (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat).
Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from ÂŁ14.76 an hour; this increases to ÂŁ15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The availability window describes the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues; if the times you’re available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you.
This role leads from the front with your colleagues, working in a fast-paced fulfilment environment where no day is the same. You will take ownership of Delivery activities by running the daily operation, coordinating the team to deliver a seamless home shopping delivery experience.
- Prioritise workload to ensure the equipment and the loading of the vans ensure a smooth doorstep service for customers.
- Constantly look for ways to improve service & safety in your centre through on-the-job coaching and feedback to others.
- Have a great understanding of how your centre is performing and support Managers to deliver practical actions for improvement by taking a hands-on approach.
- Guide, coach and oversee colleagues to ensure they are in the right place, at the right time and doing the right tasks.
- Responsible for the day-to-day replenishment operation in the centre, ensuring deliveries are taken in, worked and the centre is clean and tidy.
- Able to build strong long-lasting relationships with colleagues to create a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best.
- A clear communicator using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
- Confident in leading the team and communicating with visitors, contractors and security team.
- Flexible in decision-making and handling change to ensure everything we do is right for the customers and colleagues.

Coordinating the team to deliver great availability for customers and safe operations:
- Running the operation on a day-to-day basis, making sure daily operational decisions are right for colleagues and customers during your shift.
- Ensuring the team always delivers the shopping trip and being the person who deals with any online customer issues to ensure they receive great service and a full resolution to any problems they may have.
- Ensuring colleagues are in the right place completing the right tasks and behaviours, liaising with others to ensure customers receive their online order on time.
- Ensure Customer Delivery Drivers receive all of the relevant training as part of their role.
- Ensuring Customer Delivery Drivers fully understand their role with substitutions and “shorter than we’d like” for date codes.
- Making sure the delivery area is always clean, tidy and well presented.
- Coordinating Customer Delivery Drivers, ensuring the operation runs efficiently and effectively and they have their breaks at the right time to fit around operational requirements.
- Being knowledgeable about your centre and results, coordinating others to deliver practical actions to make improvements in your area.
- Following company and legislative health & safety routines ensuring Customer Delivery Drivers do the same.
- Delivering communication to the Customer Delivery team when there are cascades from your manager.
- Looking at ways to simplify operations and share these ideas with your Manager.
- Always putting the customer first and considering them in everything you do.
- Recognising and celebrating Customer Delivery Drivers achievements.
- Understanding what may be getting in the way of delivering a great service and helping to remove these obstacles.
- Communicating with the delivery teams as required.
- Ensuring Customer Delivery Drivers have everything they need to return safely and deal with any customer issues immediately.
- Carrying out safety & van checks as part of your shift routines.
- Working together across your store and with other stores in your local area to achieve shared success.
