Availability Window
Availability windows: Sunday 05:15–17:15, Monday to Friday 05:15–17:15, Saturday 02:15–17:15. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you will have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues; if your availability matches closely but not exactly to the advertised times, we’d still love to hear from you. We offer options to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) or a guaranteed minimum (16) hours per week.
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from ÂŁ13.35 an hour; this increases to ÂŁ14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver from Lands End to John O Groats. Our Customer Delivery Drivers meet and talk to different customers in their homes every day. This role is about more than just driving: it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.
It’s hands on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are the same; our customers look for help in many different ways. For most of the day you’ll feel like your own boss, delivering to customers, with a team of Managers and colleagues back at base to support you when needed.

Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by:
- Ensuring the van and trays you use are clean and tidy/organised.
- Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as you see it.
- Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
- Loading the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
- Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
- Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
- Delivering during the customer’s time slot.
- Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
- Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store is the best it can be for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say “Thank you”.
- Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
- Share ideas with the Manager and colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.
- A UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Able to adhere to the GB Domestic Driving Rules.
