As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at Tesco, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly. Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. - Travelators and Escalators
- Dock Levellers
- DDLS systems
- Scissor Lifts
- Back Yard Gates (BYG’s)
- Sectional Doors
- Roller Shutters
- Rapid Roll Doors
- Fire Shutters
- Compactors and Balers
- Pallet Stackers
- Respond to breakdowns swiftly and effectively to minimise downtime
- Conduct inspections, testing and certification to ensure compliance and safe operation
- Document all maintenance activity accurately using digital reporting tools
- Collaborate with site operations teams to ensure work is performed safely and with minimal disruption
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures
- ONC or equivalent
- Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3
- Full driving licence
- Health & Safety awareness
- Communication & stakeholder management
- Office 365 knowledge
- Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to skillset
- Proven experience with diverse access control and lift systems
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities
- Familiarity with powered doors, lifting platforms, and compacting equipment
- Understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for workplace machinery
