We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our innovative Paperchase & Fashion Stationery team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the Buying Manager in developing, sourcing, and purchasing high-quality, sustainably-focused products for our customers at the best prices.

Responsibilities
- Support and implement the Paperchase strategy to meet category and customer objectives
- Collaborate with Design, Technical, and Insight teams to develop and brief new products, packaging, and initiatives to differentiate Tesco
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify gaps and opportunities in the market
- Review supplier performance, identify new suppliers, and develop joint capabilities sustainably
- Assist category merchandising colleagues in developing a competitive trade plan
- Work with suppliers and technical teams to ensure product quality and ethical standards
- Manage category costs and pricing to balance competitiveness and margins
- Ensure accurate and timely commercial expenditure invoicing
- Coordinate with supply chain to optimize routes to market, availability, and waste reduction
- Provide and act on feedback, and maintain personal development plans
- Ensure safety, health, and welfare at work, acting with integrity and due diligence
