About the role

As the Senior Analytics Engineer on the Cyber Analytics team, you will lead the design and implementation of trusted, well-documented and tested data products that transform raw security data into reliable, accessible and actionable insights.

These foundations will enable reporting, advanced analytics, machine learning, Gen AI and AI-powered analytics experiences to help security teams investigate, understand and respond to threats more effectively.

Working closely with cross-functional security and data teams, you will ensure data is accurate, governed and fit for purpose, while helping to design and enable analytics agents that allow users to explore and self-serve security and business data.

You will champion the responsible use of AI through appropriate oversight, security and governance, contribute to the analytics platform architecture, and mentor junior team members to deliver high-quality cybersecurity data products.

Transformation: Lead the implementation of data transformation pipelines and automated data quality frameworks, moving data across the raw, trusted and curated layers of the data platform to deliver reliable, scalable and trusted data products for security users.

Modelling: Design, build and manage logical and physical data models that are discoverable, accessible and reliable to support various threat detection, analysis and reporting capabilities.

Documentation: Drive engineering excellence by developing high-quality data pipelines and reusable solutions, producing clear documentation, conducting thorough peer reviews and proactively raising coding standards across the team through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

Engineering: Implement automation practices that streamline the deployment, testing, monitoring and management of data models, pipelines and data quality frameworks, improving reliability, scalability and operational efficiency.

Enablement: Support the design and adoption of analytics agents and conversational analytics capabilities that enable teams to explore and investigate security and business data using natural language, ensuring the responsible application of AI through appropriate governance, security controls and human oversight.

  • Visualisation and
  • Insight

Delivery: Develop and maintain trusted dashboards and visualisations that transform complex security and business data into clear, actionable insights, enabling self-service analysis, decision-making and data storytelling.

  • Collaboration and

Communication: Partner with security, engineering and data teams to understand business needs, shape data product solutions and communicate complex data concepts effectively to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

In addition to the above core accountabilities, I am also responsible for contributing to and supporting the recruitment, coaching and development of talent within the Cyber Analytics team.

  • You will need
  • A strong passion for big data, data modelling, data quality and ETLs.
  • Solid programming experience with Python/Py Spark along with proficiency in SQL.
  • Extensive experience working with ETL and ELT frameworks and orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt.
  • Experience building robust data models on cloud platforms such as Databricks on Azure and implementing automated data quality frameworks and related controls.
  • Experience developing high-value dashboards and visualisations using BI tools such as Tableau, translating complex data into trusted insights that support self-service analytics, decision-making and storytelling.
  • Good practical understanding of version control systems such as Git and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience or an interest in building analytics agents, conversational analytics capabilities or other AI-powered self-service solutions that enable users to explore and investigate data using natural language.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including governance, security controls and appropriate human oversight.
  • Ability to provide clear input, guidance and coaching to junior members of the team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
