This role is the strategic owner of Microsoft 365 for Tesco. You will define how colleagues experience communication, collaboration, identity‑integrated services, and AI capabilities across the M365 ecosystem. You will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, the M365 roadmap, and the strategic direction of the platform, ensuring it enables productivity, operational efficiency, security posture, and long‑term value. You will partner across Engineering, Security, Identity, Change, and Business teams to shape capability adoption, manage Microsoft’s constant innovation cycle, and ensure M365 remains reliable, modern, and fit for a global retailer.

M365 Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the end‑to‑end M365 product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities, colleague experience, operational efficiency, and risk posture.
  • Lead product discovery, prioritisation, and feature evaluation across all M365 workloads including Teams, Office, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Viva, Entra‑integrated capabilities, and Copilot.
  • Translate Microsoft’s external roadmap into Tesco’s internal strategy, including deprecations, new releases, updates, and mandatory configuration changes.
  • Set the long‑term vision for how M365 evolves within Workplace Technology and the wider enterprise.

Adoption, Behavioural Change & Colleague Experience

  • Partner with Change & Comms to drive adoption across 300k+ colleagues through structured onboarding, enablement and behavioural uplift campaigns.
  • Understand colleague personas, pain points, and usage patterns and use insights to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Improve digital fluency and drive consistent, modern ways of working across the organisation.

Cross‑Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with senior business stakeholders to agree priorities, align to strategic objectives and communicate product direction.
  • Operate as Tesco’s M365 domain expert, representing the platform across internal committees and external supplier engagements.
  • Influence decision‑making across Workplace Technology, Engineering, Identity, Security and Business teams.

Execution & Delivery

  • Translate product goals into clear user stories with acceptance criteria and guide Engineering in breaking down work into incremental delivery.
  • Lead sprint and release planning to optimise value and minimise complexity.
  • Manage competing priorities and decisively resolve trade‑offs across teams.
  • Ensure well‑structured documentation, roadmap materials, and clear communication of changes.

Commercials & Licensing

  • Own the licensing strategy for Microsoft 365, including SKU optimisation, cost management and alignment to future capability needs.
  • Produce product‑related budget papers and support commercial planning activities.

You will need

  • Significant experience managing Microsoft 365 as a product, including roadmap ownership, service governance and release management.
  • Deep knowledge of M365 administration, Message Centre, roadmap IDs, usage analytics and platform telemetry.
  • Strong understanding of identity (Entra), security (Defender/Compliance), collaboration, device management and ecosystem integration.
  • Experience delivering large‑scale digital transformation or SaaS adoption programmes.
  • Experience shaping product OKRs, vision and strategy for complex, enterprise‑scale products.
  • Ability to combine quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision‑making and prioritisation.
  • Practical familiarity with how large technology systems interact, including health metrics and SLOs.
