The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
The programmes and planning team works with a strong team of programme managers to define, implement and enable the delivery of key programmes across Security. This role will work with all security and stakeholder teams to review and control the security portfolio, working alongside the STPM to assist in managing governance, reporting, planning and improvement of processes, ultimately working to protect the financial investment and return of the portfolio.
You will be responsible for:
- Working alongside colleagues in Security and Capability to manage the governance, planning, reporting and improvement of processes.
- Working with the Senior Technical Programme Manager to communicate and maintain the consistent set of programme, workstream and project management standards, guidance and templates to be used by the Programme team.
- Ensuring a consistent approach to how teams record and monitor all workstream risks, issues and dependencies ensuring all are identified and tracked appropriately.
- Analysing and producing reports on department/portfolio status, resource and finance position.
- Supporting the creation and implementation of processes and reporting across teams to monitor achievement of committed programme goals, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across Tesco are kept up to date.
- Providing advice and guidance on programme delivery (line management and mentoring other TPMs and supporting Engineering/Product teams).
- Understanding trade-offs in software delivery using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution.
- Foreseeing potential risks and issues, establishing a process, facilitating discussion, and managing escalations.
- Having the financial acumen to secure, manage and track investment funding and foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans.
- Collaborating across Product and Engineering teams to define and comply with annual budgetary requirements.
- Building positive relationships with suppliers and external stakeholders to deliver software or professional services, holding them to account on delivery and improvement plans.
- Supporting vendor selection processes – managing the overarching maintenance portfolio, recommending areas for improvement.
- Communicating clear objectives and career path for any direct reports.
- Coaching peers and other roles, teaching where required, on methodologies and programme management tools and coach/mentor on leadership.
- Participating in the recruitment process.
- Contributing actively to the TPM community.
Qualifications:
- Experience of working within a programme function overseeing management of an investment portfolio.
- Experience of working within a security function for a major retail organisation.
- Strong inter-personal skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management & leadership teams.
- Strong vendor management and negotiating skills.
- Exceptional reporting skills for programs and financial forecasting.
- Excellent communication & influencing skills and adaptability to changes.
