The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
The successful candidate will have a history of delivering value to customers within their field of expertise and demonstrate a clear specialism that differentiates them as a subject matter authority. As an individual contributor, this remains a hands-on role from a delivery perspective. They will be accountable for evolving and driving the product vision & strategy, partnering with business collaborators to set the strategic direction as part of the wider business strategy. This person will be writing user stories, crafting backlogs and setting priorities, and will demonstrate proficiency in understanding future trends in their area and be able to explain these to senior partners.
You will be responsible for:
- Evolving and driving the product vision, strategy, and the long-term roadmap.
- Proactively partnering with peers and senior stakeholders to set the future direction of the product as part of the wider business strategy.
- Understanding key user personas, customers & stakeholders for the product and their pain points.
- Being accountable for the performance/adoption of the product and working towards achieving the Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs).
- Prioritising work and decisively resolving trade-offs with peers and senior leaders.
- Effectively documenting and explaining new requirements to the engineering team using user stories with acceptance criteria and helping the team in breaking down complex work into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
- Steering sprint/release planning sessions by working with the engineering counterparts to plan sprints/releases that deliver maximum business value with least effort.
- Driving the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product teams and engineering stakeholders.
- Prioritising, coordinating and communicating the resolution of live product issues independently.
- Providing leadership and direction to cross-functional teams on short-term tasks/near-term priorities.
- Being the subject matter expert for the product area.
You will need to:
- Appraise and analyse the results of customer research and use the results to influence product outcomes and strategic goals.
- Know how diverse personas or customer groups perceive, understand and experience the product in different ways.
- Write hypothesis statements and work directly with optimisation managers and/or engineers to set up and execute experiments.
- Understand how large technology systems should interact with each other and track health metrics (uptime, SLOs, response time, etc).
- Be involved in setting the vision and strategy for the product area and develop and baseline the product's OKRs.
- Engage with and be actively involved in market research, leveraging insights to shape the vision and strategic direction of the product in line with business and technology goals and customer expectations.
- Be skilled in using various data types in different situations and know when to use quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- Understand large scale data platforms and how they can increase the scalability, availability, performance, and security of the organisation’s data.
- Understand the Product Management lifecycle, product delivery process and the importance of an Agile mindset to discover, design, define, develop and deliver small increments of the most important opportunities that will drive growth and value for the product.
- Understand the importance of a product roadmap in creating buy-in from stakeholders and other teams.
