The Product Analytics and Experimentation team sits within the Data, Analytics & AIdirectorate in the Technology department. The position can be based either in our office in Farringdon, London, or in our head office in Welwyn Garden City, with some occasional travel to the other office required.

You will be responsible

This role reports to the Analytics Manager for Optimisation. Responsibilities will evolve in linewith business needs, but key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end A/B test analysis, including defining measurement frameworks,shaping tracking requirements, validating data sources, applying appropriateanalytical techniques, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations tostakeholders.
  • Partnering with Product Managers, Optimisation Managers, and the AnalyticsCapabilities team to define hypotheses, experimentation methodologies, successmetrics, technical approaches, and measurement requirements, ensuring robusttracking and analytics are in place for all A/B testing activity.
  • Escalation and advancement of Tesco’s experimentation capability through theevaluation, recommendation, and implementation of advanced statistical methods,analytical techniques, and best practices that improve decision‑making and businessoutcomes.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to data quality, analytical processes, andexperimentation workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and the speed of insightgeneration.
  • Managing the experimentation analysis backlog at a stream level, prioritising work andcoordinating delivery to ensure timely and effective support for business priorities.
  • Supporting the definition of OKR metrics and collaborating with Analytics, UX Insight,and Commercial Personalisation teams to identify opportunities for improving thedigital customer experience.
  • Coaching and mentoring analysts within the team, promoting best practice inexperimentation and analysis, and helping to develop analytical capability across thefunction.

You will need

  • Digital analytics, optimisation, or experimentation roles, with a strong understandingof A/B testing methodologies and the value of experimentation in driving businessoutcomes.
  • Applying statistical techniques and experimentation principles to real‑world businessproblems, with the ability to explain analytical findings and complex concepts to bothtechnical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partnering effectively with cross‑functional teams and contributing across all stages ofthe product development lifecycle.
  • Using large and complex datasets to generate insights, combining data from multiplesources and applying advanced SQL to support analysis.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, emerging methodologies, and best practicesin analytics, experimentation, and optimisation.

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be desirable:

  • Working with digital analytics, business intelligence, and data visualisation tools, suchas Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Hadoop, or equivalent platforms.
