Pay and Hours

Tesco Shift Lead Night pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour worked. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Shift Scheduling

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

  • Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store
  • Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go‑to person for day‑to‑day operational queries
  • Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best
  • Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence
  • Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change
  • Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role‑modeling great service

  • Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment
