Pay and Hours

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with the option to work fewer hours down to 12.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
  • Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as I see it.
  • Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
  • Load the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
  • Talk to the customer about any changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
  • Take care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
  • Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
  • Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
  • Call the customer before arriving at their property if early.
  • Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and help make the store the best it can be for customers.
  • Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say 'Thank you.'
  • Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
  • Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to maintain a healthy balance.
  • Share ideas with my Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.

Qualifications

A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
