As a Post Office Counter Clerk working within a One Stop convenience store, you play a vital dual role in delivering essential postal services and supporting the wider retail environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers using the Post Office, providing friendly, efficient service across a range of products including mail handling, financial services, and retail transactions. Working in a One Stop setting means you'll also contribute to the store’s overall customer experience, supporting colleagues, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and helping with general store duties when needed. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with cash and sensitive documents.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and support.
  • Process sales of postage, packaging, and retail items.
  • Handle mail and parcels, including weighing, franking, and dispatch.
  • Carry out financial transactions and banking services.
  • Promote and advise on postal and financial products.
  • Maintain accurate records and balance tills.
  • Follow security, compliance, and data protection procedures.
  • Support general administrative and stock control tasks.

  • Greet each customer with a warm and friendly welcome.

  • Do your best to make sure the customer finds everything they want.

  • Always be in store, on time, smartly dressed and ready to serve.
  • Make sure Post Office processes and procedures are followed.
  • Always think 25 when serving age restricted products.
  • Work as part of a team to complete store duties.
