An exciting new role within our Property Function! We are seeking a multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical bias to join our team. In this role, you will prioritise maintaining and repairing brand-new equipment, applying your technical expertise to ensure outstanding performance and continuous improvement principles. A passion for customer service is essential, as you will understand the impact of your decisions and the efficiency of your maintenance work and will operate within your training and experience, ensuring a safe environment for all. You will maintain and repair cutting-edge equipment in my nominated Urban Fulfilment Centre (UFC), utilising my experience and technical knowledge. You will ensure that equipment runs in its optimum state through regular formal and informal inspections, completing maintenance tasks in accordance with good engineering practice, and strive to improve the equipment where possible.

Responsibilities

  • Completing maintenance to an excellent standard, whilst ensuring any items that need rectifying are either immediately repaired or logged and scheduled for revisiting.
  • Operate with safety in mind at all times, dynamically risk-assessing all jobs to ensure the safety of myself and those around me.
  • Build effective relationships with my colleagues and stakeholders from all departments, ensuring strong bonds with my operational colleagues and supporting them where possible.
  • Supervising performance of my site to ensure that we’re always operating efficiently. I understand terms such as availability and performance, and utilising various means to measure these.
  • Being proactive and dynamic with my timekeeping, ensuring that I give the best value to the customer within my working time. I actively look for ways to be encouraging and continuously improve as a business.
  • Document findings for major breakdowns/outages, using root cause analysis methods and proven approaches.
  • Support in ensuring site maintenance budget is adhered to, through working with a no-waste approach and repairing/testing replaced equipment for future use where possible.
  • Administrative maintenance, ensuring the CMMS is up to date and truly reflective of the maintenance position on site and completing other tasks such as shift reports to a high standard.
  • Support in the maintenance of the budget for my site by ensuring that spares/hours are accurately used and tracked.

Qualifications

  • Served a full Engineering apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  • Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Experience working hands-on within an engineering/maintenance department on highly automated equipment.
  • Electrical/mechanical cross-skill training.
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Communication and stakeholder management.
  • Analysis and presentation of data to achieve timely decisions.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Setting and maintaining of the highest of standards.
