Pay
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Hours
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may choose to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12). We schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows and provide a 3-week notice of shifts. We support flexibility; if your available times are close to the advertised times, we will still consider you.

- Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
- Baking in waves for scratch products so customers receive fresh products throughout the day, minimising waste and ensuring yield is being adhered to for great quality.
- Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
- Adhering to all food hygiene, safety and allergen guidelines at all times.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within my department and my store.
- Putting into practice the training you have received, so we all work safely, effectively and serve our customers brilliantly.
- Proactively checking the emergency stop buttons are working and all machinery is safe to use before operation, in line with safe & legal checks/training.
- Report any next steps to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
- Disposing of waste in a responsible manner, including following food waste and recycling routines.
- Being knowledgeable about your store’s performance, understanding the part you play and what we need to do together to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink and deliver profit.
- Being yourself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and always following our policies.
- Working across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
