About the role: Part of the Distribution Centre team that provides great service to our stores, ensuring customers have great availability and standards of product by completing administration activities and clerical support in the Delivery Service function so we can serve our stores and operate safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing operational support to colleagues and Managers by:
- Completing a full handover to the oncoming clerks, sharing all relevant information.
- Answering telephones and responding to queries from stores or Distribution Direct, inputting them onto the online log.
- Completing all reports and sending these to the relevant people.
- Manning the Goods Out desk, issuing Drivers their assigned work/journey and conducting the pre-brief.
- Completing the de-brief, investigating any route or time discrepancies and escalating issues to the Delivery Service Duty Manager if required.
- Collating, recording and reporting information as required for a safe, smooth, efficient Delivery Service operation.
- Maintaining all relevant systems so they are accurate and used to their full effectiveness.
- Liaising with other operational areas of the Distribution Centre/Tesco/Agencies/3rd Parties as required.
- Complete administrative checks and routines in line with the operating model policies and procedures.
- Maintaining the Tesco agreed trackers so we can track and monitor our people information and performance.
- Provides Administrative Support by:
- Being helpful and friendly in all interactions with colleagues and Managers.
- Feeding back to Managers common trends, patterns and concerns with any queries or questions colleagues continually raise or information that indicates there may be a problem.
- Being approachable and confidential; building trust based relationships across the Delivery Service function.
- Being thorough and detailed in everything I do, so we deliver a safe, legally compliant and efficient operation.
- Completing admin as required by the Delivery Service Team Managers/Delivery Service Lead Manager so they are free to focus on more complex things and looking after their teams.
- Communicating and handing over to the Delivery Service Team Managers and Clerks/Drivers/Shunters.

Additional Information:
Tesco will only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age. We can only accept candidates over the age of 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm or involves working in areas such as the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, counters, bakery and driving roles.
