About the Role: As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver groceries to customers across the country. The role involves driving, loading and unloading goods, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the team at base.
Responsibilities:
- Keep the van and trays clean and organised.
- Maintain the return yard tidy and free of litter.
- Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van and check for roadworthiness.
- Communicate with customers about order changes, short‑codes, substitutions and refunds.
- Handle products and deliveries responsibly.
- Explain that no extra charge applies for substitutions.
- Deliver within the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer if arriving early.
- Contact the store or centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit.
- Interact warmly with customers and colleagues, showing appreciation.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change.
- Share ideas with managers and colleagues to improve service.
Qualifications: Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points. Applicants must be at least the school leaver age (must be 18 years or older).
