The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This role works 38 hours per week, including one weekend every three weeks. We are looking for experienced butchers who can run the butchery department as if it were their own business, working closely with customers to understand the local market and provide excellent service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards in all areas, including stock, food-safety procedures, fresh-meat and pre-packed displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop a business plan that supports sales growth and profitability.
  • Greet customers, provide product advice, answer questions, accept orders and offer helpful advice with a smile.
  • Order and manage stock, including regular stock-taking.
  • Effectively develop and manage a small team, including creating staff rosters.
  • Cut meat to order according to customer specifications.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate deliveries or order pickups.
  • Control waste and manage disposal procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experienced butcher with strong product knowledge of all meat proteins.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve success.
  • Good understanding of local market dynamics and strong customer-service skills.
  • Over 18 years of age and able to work required hours (before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm) as specified by company policy.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
