Our Pharmacy Technician rate of pay starts from 15.70 an hour; this increases for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

Its our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if youd like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

The table shows the periods of time in the week wed like you to be available to work the availability windows.

We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and youll have 3 weeks notice of exactly when your shifts will be.

We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times youre available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, wed still love to hear from you.

Every day youll have the opportunity to make things better for customers in all sorts of ways, such as support for giving up smoking, reviewing customers use of medicines, checking blood pressure or testing for blood glucose levels.

  • Accurately completing the checking process, following a clinical check by a pharmacist.

When the skill mix within the pharmacy is not appropriate for the Accuracy Checking role to be in place, you will carry out the dispensing process.

  • Proactively identifying customers that need help and offer appropriate information on common ailments, symptoms and products.
  • Taking time to understand customers needs, explaining the benefits of the products in a way they understand and only selling products that are right for the customer.
  • Advise customers on the range of Pharmacy services available.
  • Support and deliver Pharmacy Services and the Dispensing Process according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Effectively checking dispensed prescriptions for accuracy according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Confidently check the legal validity and accuracy of dispensed prescriptions
  • Effectively respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within area of competence.
  • Effectively respond to customer queries in relation to prescription medicines, informing the Pharmacist of any complaints.
  • Ensure all dispensary routines and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
  • Ensure dispensary and consulting rooms are clean, tidy and free of clutter.
  • Ensure all prescription administration is accurate and completed on time, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Bringing promotional activities and company initiatives within the team to life.
  • Actively strive to meet departmental targets set by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Carrying out all procedures accurately to protect profit and ensure we trade safely and legally.
  • Supporting the Pharmacy Manager and Duty Pharmacy Manager with the supervision and development of other pharmacy team members through coaching and feedback.
  • Be supportive of, and willing to help, colleagues and management at all times.
  • Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
  • Registering with the General Pharmaceutical Council as an Accuracy Checking Technician, completing a GPh C recognised training course, following successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program, NVQ 3 or equivalent.
  • Upholding the GPh C standards and public trust in pharmacy so patients have confidence that you are fully qualified and meet all professional, fitness to practise and ethical standards.

Being responsible for undertaking Continuing Professional Development and maintaining annual registration with GPh C each year

  • A pharmacy technician/ accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
  • Proof of completion ofa recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/ Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proof of completing your annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.
