Customers are at the heart of everything we do. It takes lots of different people to run a store and this is a job for doers, with plenty of variety. It is a committed role, full of everyday challenges, but that makes it exciting.

Availability

  • Sun 05:00–14:00
  • Mon 06:00–13:00
  • Wed 06:00–12:30
  • Sat 05:00–10:15

We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and give you three weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be.

Pay and Hours

£13.28 per hour, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with a flexible option for a minimum of 12 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Help serve shoppers better every day.
  • Meet great people, learn new things and be part of a specialist, diverse team.
  • Maintain knowledge of store performance and collaborate to drive service, sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Apply training received to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines in store that meet the needs of customers at the right time.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.

  • Ability to build rapport with customers, ensuring they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.
  • Take initiative and make decisions that are right for our customers.

  • Be on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.
  • Knowledge of the products and services within the store.
  • Knowledgeable about the store's performance, understanding your part in driving service and sales.

Eligibility

Applicants must be over 18 years old. The role may involve working before 06:15 am or after 09:45 pm, or in areas such as the warehouse, beer, wine and spirits, counters, bakery, or driving roles. High volume applications may result in earlier closure of the role before the advertised end date.
