Availability windows are as follows: Sun 18:00-23:00, Mon 08:00-13:00, Tue 18:00-22:00, Wed 09:00-19:00, Thu 18:00-23:00, Sat 09:00-19:00.
Pay and Hours
Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with the option to work fewer hours down to a minimum of 12.
Shift Availability
We schedule your contracted hours within the advertised availability windows and provide you with three weeks' notice of your exact shifts. Flexibility is supported if your available times are close to the advertised times.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the van and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
- Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
- Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required and check the van for roadworthiness.
- Communicate with customers about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offer a refund for any dissatisfaction.
- Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explain to the customer that they will not be charged for substitutions.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving at their property if arriving early.
- Contact the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to ensure the store is the best it can be for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand each customer and say 'Thank you'.
- Respond quickly to the changing needs of customers and embrace change within the store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a balanced life.
- Share ideas with your manager and other colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
Qualifications
- A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Ability to work within the specified availability windows.
- Strong customer‑focused attitude and friendly communication skills.
- Physical ability to conduct deliveries, including lifting items safely.
