Pay & Hours
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Help serve shoppers better every day.

- Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
- Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
- Put into practice the training received, ensuring safe, effective, and brilliant customer service.
- Make decisions right for customers, delivering routines in store that meet needs at the right time.
- Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
- Be knowledgeable about store performance, understand role and help drive service, sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure best condition.
- Live the values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
- May be required to accept deliveries into the store.
- Be passionate for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
- Build rapport with customers, ensuring they leave with a great shopping trip.

Eligibility
You must be over 18 years old to apply. We only recruit individuals who have passed school leaver’s age. If the role involves working before 6:15 a.m. or after 9:45 p.m., or in areas such as warehouse, bakery, drinks, counters, or driving roles, candidates must be over 18.
