Pay and Hours

Our Skilled Baker rate starts from £13.38 per hour, increasing to £14.59 for stores inside the M25, with additional payments possible. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12).

Responsibilities

  • Know customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
  • Bake in waves for scratch products so customers receive fresh products throughout the day, minimising waste and ensuring quality.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Adhere to all food hygiene, safety and allergen guidelines at all times.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within your department and store.
  • Apply training received to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Proactively check emergency stop buttons and machine safety before operation, in line with safe & legal checks/training; report next steps to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly, following food waste and recycling routines.
  • Be knowledgeable about store performance, understand your role in driving service, sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
  • Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
