We are looking for an Assistant Shift Manager to Join our fast-paced, reactive transport team. You’ll play a key role in delivering the daily plan, overseeing loading activities, and managing attendance and absence records. You’ll also support the Shift Manager across all areas of transport operations and people management, helping ensure smooth and compliant performance throughout the shift. Oversee the dispatch board, record colleague arrivals, and ensure timely route departures Manage and report colleague absences effectively Coordinate with staffing agencies to fill operational gaps as needed Conduct colleague meetings, including welfare check-ins, investigations, and disciplinary hearings Support the monitoring and enforcement of legal transport compliance standards Collaborate with the warehouse team to resolve loading and operational issues Perform routine driver licence checks to ensure compliance Assign and track vehicles using the fleet monitoring system Prepare and process reports related to driver infringements Investigate personal and vehicle incidents Provide operational support across all areas of the transport function as required Essential: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Office and administrative experience at management level High degree of confidentiality, accuracy some want the freedom to do the things they love.
