Our Customer Delivery Driver role offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with the option to work fewer hours (minimum of 12). The starting hourly pay is £14.18, increasing to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
Availability Window
Tue 12:45:00–22:45:00; Thu 12:45:00–22:45:00; Fri 17:45:00–22:45:00; Sat 12:45:00–22:45:00. Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these availability windows, and you will receive three weeks’ notice of each shift.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the van and trays are clean and tidy.
- Maintain the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as needed.
- Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required and check the vehicle for roadworthiness.
- Communicate with customers about changes to orders, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offer refunds when appropriate.
- Treat products and deliveries as if they were your own.
- Inform the customer that no additional charge will apply for substitutions.
- Deliver during the customer’s agreed time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving if early.
- Call the store or centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to ensure the store serves customers well.
- Remain warm and welcoming in interactions, taking time to understand customers and say thank you.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
- Demonstrate energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations.
- Share ideas with managers and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
Qualifications
Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
Eligibility
Only individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age may apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years old if the role requires working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or in areas such as warehousing, alcohol, counters, bakery, or driving.
