Key Responsibilities
- Completing a full handover to the oncoming clerks, sharing all relevant information.
- Answering telephones and responding to queries from stores or Distribution Direct, inputting them onto the online log.
- Completing all reports and sending these to the relevant people.
- Ensuring all drivers are issued with their assigned work/journey and receive the pre‑brief.
- Investigating any route or time discrepancies and escalating issues to the Delivery Service Duty Manager if required.
- Collating, recording and reporting information as required for a safe, smooth, efficient Delivery Service operation.
- Maintaining all relevant systems so they are accurate and used to their full effectiveness.
- Liaising with other operational areas of the Distribution Centre/Tesco/Agencies/3rd Parties as required.
- I complete administrative checks and routines in line with the operating model policies and procedures.
- Maintaining the Tesco agreed trackers so we can track and monitor our people information and performance.
- Ensuring that payroll system is maintained with changes to schedules to reflect actual working and absences.
- Ensuring the transport office rota is adequately covered with issues escalated to Delivery Service Duty Manager if required.
- Attending Depot update meetings as required.
- Ensuring deliveries and collections of equipment and waste are completed within policy.
- I co‑ordinate yard activities and ensure shunters are supporting the warehouse team to deliver the schedule.
- I ensure all systems are working correctly / report issues and defects as required (Microlise, Tachomaster, Fleetboard etc.).
- I ensure regular legal compliance activities are carried out as required (e. g. vehicle downloads) and that any compliance issues are promptly reported to Delivery Service Duty Manager.

- Operational Skills
- Good PC skills MS Office/Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of the Transport Operation desirable but not essential.
