  • Sun 07:00 - 12:00
  • Mon 15:00 - 19:00
  • Tue 15:00 - 19:00
  • Fri 15:00 - 19:00
  • Sat 13:00 - 20:00

Pay & Hours:

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too.

Shift Scheduling:

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows above, and you’ll have 3 weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We also support flexibility if the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the advertised times.

  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
  • Working across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Putting into practice the training received to work safely and effectively.
  • Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering routines that meet their needs.
  • Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Being knowledgeable about store performance and understanding the part played in driving service and sales.
  • Handling products with care to maintain quality.
  • Being myself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and following our policies.
  • Accepting deliveries into the store when required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience or enthusiasm for food, grocery or retail environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to handle transactions, replenish stock, and assist with deliveries.
  • A commitment to safety, hygiene and quality standards.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.

Age Requirement:

We can only accept candidates over the age of 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or involves working in areas such as the warehouse, beer, wine and spirits, counters, bakery and driving roles.
