You will be responsible for
- Leading the UK Reward & Workplace Relations team, accountable for the Reward & Workplace Relations strategy that supports the Group People plan and business strategy to help attract, retain and manage our people.
- Being a supportive leader, ensuring my team are developed and encouraged to reach their full potential, leading by example and driving a culture of continuous growth and improvement.
- Development and implementation of the UK Reward & Workplace relations strategy for all colleagues up to senior levels.
- Owner of all colleague policies for UK colleagues, leading changes to support business needs and compliance.
- Leading the total reward proposition for all UK colleagues across Stores, Office & Distribution.
- Leading the annual pay review cycle including bonus plans, pay gap reporting, salary surveys and benchmarking.
- Leading the annual Benefits cycle including Flexible Benefits, Reward Gateway, Colleague Clubcard, Total Reward Statements, financial wellbeing and private medical insurance.
- Handling Union relationships for UK including negotiation, consultation and communication at all UK forums, the European Works Council and running Group Colleague Contribution Panels for the Tesco PLC Board.
- Raising colleague and manager understanding of Tesco Reward and Benefits and their value, setting and implementing our plans for pay transparency for UK colleagues.
- Supporting the broader People Team strategy, working collaboratively with peers across all teams, markets and subsidiaries to achieve the best outcomes for Tesco and colleagues.
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
You will need
- Strong team leadership and mentoring skills.
- Finding the right mix of strategic planning and operational agility.
- Ability to simplify complex topics to support the right decision making.
- Strong partner engagement & relationship building to engage widely using emotional intelligence and listening skills to quickly grasp important points in unfamiliar ground and information.
- Experience implementing Reward, Benefit and Workplace relations strategies with in-depth understanding of technical area of expertise and legislative impacts.
- Experience in running HR policy changes.
- Experience in leading Union negotiations.
- Leading and collaborating with large teams.
- Being comfortable operating in and out of the detail.

- Annual bonus scheme of up to 45% of base salary.
